The Challenge
Founded in 2014, Creature Comforts prides itself on delivering high-quality beer to its customers. However, they faced a significant challenge: maintaining that quality throughout the supply chain. Without real-time data and visibility, it was difficult to ensure their beer stayed in optimal conditions from the brewery to the consumer's glass.
The Solution
Enter Konvoy’s IoT Keg Tracking Solution Konvoy Cloud. We attached our Katch tracking device to 100 of their kegs. This technology provided real-time temperature and location data, giving them unprecedented insight into their supply chain.
The Results
Our collaboration yielded impressive results almost immediately. Here are some insights shared by the Creature Comforts team:
“On day one, we were able to confirm our suspicions that one of our distributors was not cold-storing product on arrival, at times leaving it ambient for hours which is outside of the agreement,” said Daniel Le Page, Director of Quality.
Another significant finding was that some distributors were preloading warm trucks between 3-5 pm each afternoon for next-day deliveries. This practice caused beer frothing issues when tapped immediately after delivery. “We can now work with everyone on how to prevent these issues,” the team noted.
“We have identified venues who have not been cold-storing product and we can even notice when they might have over-ordered. Real-time data allows us to correct the problem before the beer gets to consumers,” the team added.
